Despite what some may say, Miley Cyrus can now say she's an award-winning inspiration to youth everywhere.

The 18-year-old actress-and-singer was presented with the first-ever Global Action Youth Leadership Award for the positive impact she has on young people’s attitudes at a gala in Los Angeles on Friday, by her idol Hilary Duff.

Accepting the accolade, she said: "I got to tell you that I never thought I would get an award from Hilary Duff. This is like a dream come true to me. She inspired me.

"I want kids to do something they love. Not something that seems like a chore because someone tells them that's the right thing to do or what their parents want or what's important to people around them, but what's in their heart."

The Hannah Montana star recently admitted while she is happy to be seen as a role model for younger girls, she doesn’t want her fans to idolize her.

Miley Cyrus explained: "If you look at me as a role model, I agree with it. If you look at me as an idol, I don't agree. An idol for me is someone that you want to replicate. You want to be them. I don't wish that on anyone, to lose what they have personally, because that's when your spark goes."

An AOL poll named the singer/actress the Worst Celebrity Influence on the planet two years in a row. Over the weekend, however, Cyrus received the first ever Global Action Youth Leadership Award at a gala in Los Angeles.

Said Miley Cyrus on stage, after being handed the award by Hilary Duff:

"I want [kids] to do something they love. Not something that seems like a chore because someone tells them that's the right thing to do or what their parents want or what's important to people around them, but what's in their heart."

It's been a trying few days for Miley, as sources say she's angry at her father for bashing Hannah Montana and openly stating that Satan is attacking his family, as evidenced by his daughter's recent actions.

In related news, reports tell that Miss Miley Cyrus recently sold off her Panama City beach house to earn herself a little extra cash.

According to The Real Estalker, the swanky estate was bought for $1.96 million dollars after Miley reportedly bought the place for $1.8 million dollars last year.

Always a crowd favorite, Miley Cyrus was spotted arriving at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 13).

Looking glamorous, the “Party in the USA” gal flashed her big smile as she posed for a plethora of pictures ahead of the musical event.

Ms Miley Cyrus joined other celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Neil Patrick Harris and more, who were all in attendance to present awards at the exciting show.

It’s that time of the year again- the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards show is just around the corner, and the 2011 hopefuls have just been announced.

Kristen Stewart will compete against Miley Cyrus, Ashley Judd, and Emma Watson for the Favorite Movie Actress trophy.

Additionally, Jack Black has been invited to host the gig, making his third appearance since 2006. He told press, "Anyone can host something once. But if they ask you back a second time, that means they liked the way you did it. And if you host a third time, that means the first time wasn't a fluke, and it means you did good two times. So the third time, well - that's the real achievement."

She’s been the subject of some hilarious satire on “Saturday Night Live” and now Miley Cyrus will serve as host.

The “Last Song” singer/actress has been announced as the host of the March 5th episode of the late night sketch comedy program.

There’s no word yet as to what skits Miley Cyrus will be participating in, though it would be fabulous to see her opposite Vanessa Bayer in “The  Miley Cyrus Show.”

The “Hannah Montana” hottie sported a Winter Kate ensemble as she posed for the paparazzi outside the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles.

In career news, Miley told Marie Claire magazine that she’s really looking forward to the release of her new film “L.O.L.” also starring Demi Moore.

But Miley has gone back to L.A. now so it may not work out. Who knows if it’s actually anything serious between the two.

Joshua is an up and coming British actor who reportedly dated Amy Winehouse prior to Miley Cyrus. Hmmm, that’s quite the switch there.

Oh boy!! We just got over the whole bong incident and now this? Miley Cyrus can’t have a moment of peace, can she?

Seems like the Disney star just got another tattoo bringing up her count to 5. Miley Cyrus – who is rumored to be dating Joshua Bowman –  inked her latest design around her rib cage.

This is the first legal tattoo Miley Cyrus has received.  All others were done before she turned 18.

We just didn't think a middle-aged disc jockey known for his extreme views and penchant for lesbians was among them.

As a guest on Piers Morgan Tonight this week, Howard Stern was asked about the current music scene. He initially made a joke about Miley Cyrus basically stripping off all her clothes on stage, but then admitted that he's a fan of both this 18-year old artist and Lady Gaga.

Stern said he's even Googled Miley Cyrus recently. And, yes, he knows how dirty that sounds...

Miley Cyrus to Anchor Supernatural Thriller?

The movie offers continue to come in for Miley Cyrus.

First, her mother reportedly optioned the rights for a music video to be made into a feature-length film.

Now, the screenwriter behind Disturbia and Paranormal Activity 2 has said in a new interview that he hopes to work with Miley Cyrus on "Wake," a big screen version of Lisa McMann's book series.

"It's sort of a vehicle for Miley Cyrus," Landon says. "She is looking to sort of get out of her cutesy Hannah Montana image... She wanted to do something a little edgier and a little darker, so we're making this movie hopefully... It's about a teenage girl who has a rare form of narcalepsy. When she's within a certain distance of someone sleeping, she passes out and goes into their dreams."

Landon says there's "definitely a spooky element to it."

Miley Cyrus has made it clear she hopes to be taken seriously as a movie actress. She just finished filming LOL with Demi Moore and Ashley Greene.

It looks like they are at a club which I still don’t get because I thought you had to be 21 to go to clubs. Can’t these establishments get into trouble? Why have laws if they blatantly can disregard them? Just for us regular folk? UGH!

This morning a video of Miley Cyrus smoking a bong spread across the internet, and even though the herb she was smoking isn’t illegal, her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is not impressed. Billy Ray shared via his Twitter:

“Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. I’m so sad. There is much beyond my control right now.”

The herb she was reportedly smoking is called salvia, which is still legal in some areas (including California where Miley lives), but is known to causes hallucinations and have some scary side affects and is considered a “drug of concern“.


While it’s not Miley’s responsibility what other kids do, you know it’s going to be blamed on her if kids are suddenly trying this herb.

Miley Cyrus, Mother Raise Cancer Awareness

It pains us when we can't mock Miley Cyrus.
Fortunately, the singer gave us (and the Parents' Television Council) plenty to go on about in her new music video.

But mother Tish Cyrus recently spoke to USA Today about how she and her daughter got involved with City of Hope's "All In Week" last week to raise cancer awareness among mothers and young women. We can only give them props for that action.

"It's scary when you have girls, and you hear how many women of all ages, including the young, are affected by cancer every year," said Tish, who lost her father and grandmother to the disease.
Elsewhere in the article, Miley's mom talked about her and her family's involvement in this important cause. Excerpts from the interview follow:


On City of Hope: Children's cancer was something that Miley was really passionate about. It's so devastating to see how many people are affected by cancer every year. One of the first things Miley did with City of Hope was to team up with Disney on The Concert for Hope at the Gibson Amphitheatre with the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. For each ticket sold, $1 was given to City of Hope. I believe she raised over $1 million.

On settling an example: Miley has always believed that if we all do something small, you can make a huge difference. When visiting a children's hospital at home in Tennessee or being involved with City of Hope, it's about getting out to spread that message. Also, teens can make a difference by setting an example for young kids. That's been the case with our youngest, Noah, who's 10. She looks up to Brandi and Miley and the work they do. She's planning to go to Haiti for a mission trip.

On who inspires Miley: Her dad. In the early '90s when he was touring, we'd do 290 shows in 350 days, and I never remember one when he didn't spend time with special-needs kids, meeting them after the show. He'd also give all the gifts he'd been given at each show to local children's hospitals, even if he had to drop them off at midnight. Turns out, THG isn't the only one to have a major problem with Miley Cyrus.

Following the release of the singer's video for "Who Owns My Heart," which includes the 17-year writhing around in bed, blindfolded, the Parents Television Council has released the following statement:

It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point.  Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.

Hmmm... where else did we read something very similar?

Now, on one hand, this certainly isn’t unusual. High school kids get their fake IDs and go to adult nightclubs every week in this country (although that doesn’t make it okay). But when you’re a famous teenager, you’d think that’s just one of the things you can’t do. It’s a trade-off of being famous and wealthy.
Not for Miley Cyrus. She was spotted partying in Voyeur nightclub in Los Angeles.

“She was constantly smiling and seemed to be in great spirits,” an onlooker tells UsMagazine.com, adding that Cyrus “waved her hands in the air and danced seductively while shaking her hips” to songs by David Guetta and DJ Khaled.

“It was clear she knew she was being watched by others,” the source says, adding that Cyrus and her girlfriends were flanked by a security guard at all times. “No alcohol was in her presence the entire night.”

“Miley looked care-free and let loose with the girls,” the source tells Us. “She looked happy and seemed to be taking advantage of her time out in the club.”

Well, I’m glad no underage drinking was spotted. And the nightclub bears responsibility for the fact that they let her in. I mean, who doesn’t know Miley isn’t 21?

"She was constantly smiling and seemed to be in great spirits," a witness told Us Weekly, saying the 17-year old "waved her hands in the air and danced seductively while shaking her hips" to singles by David Guetta and DJ Khaled.
