How to do the Laura Linney Hair do

How to do the Laura Linney Hair doLaura Linney was born on February 5, 1964 in New York City. She graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School in 1982before going to Northwestern University. After that she made her way to Brown University and then went on to study acting at the famous Julliard School.

She started the 1990s appearing in a few films such as Dave. The miniseries Tales of the City brought her much attention and she began having important roles in big movies such as Congo, and Primal Fear. Her really big break though was playing Jim Carrey’s wife in The Truman Show. She has been nominated for four Academy Awards in total. She was nominated for Best Actress for her roles in You Can Count on Me, The Savages, and most recently for The Savages. In 2004 she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Kinsey.
Laura Linney usually wears her hair long and blonde. It is these same luscious, shiny locks that every woman strives for. She knows how to take a simple style and make it timeless and classic leaving it with the class and sophistication that can only come from the one and only Ms. Linney. Strolling down the red carpet, her hair was, as usual, in top form, and below are some steps that will show how to create this same look, whether you are walking the red carpet or just going to run errands.

The Do
The timeless look that Laura Linney wore at the 80th Academy Awards ceremony was sophisticated and proved that she is absolutely full of grace. To begin styling this look, apply a volumizing mousse or gel throughout the entire hair. Do not part the hair anywhere as this will detract from the volume of the hairdo. While you are blow-drying the hair, pull the hair up with a round, flat brush and focus the hot air towards the roots. This hair does need a bit of wave so you can either place the hair around large rollers to achieve the wave and pick random pieces of hair to curl with a wave attachment of a curling iron.

Who’s It For?
This hair definitely needs some length on it as the drama of the look lies in the fact that it is so big and encompasses the entire face and down the shoulders. It will look best on faces that are long or oval. Full faces will probably not work as well with this hairstyle. There will be too much volume with the face shape and the amount of hair combined but a narrower face will definitely be a nice contrast.

Treatments
Two-tone highlights will work very well with this look as there is so much hair to look at and the highlights will really stand out. Other than that, the only treatment that is necessary is some of the volumizing gel or mousse.

Finishing
Simply finish off by spraying a styling spray around the entire hair area, focusing on the roots to make it stand up even more.

Each week I’ll be teaching you how to create female celebrities’ hairstyles so be sure to check back here for the latest in celebrity hair tips and tricks.

Trends For Hairstyles In 2010

Trends For Hairstyles In 2010
With another year coming to its end new trends and styles are merging fast. Clothes are changing their shape, cut and color as are shoes. Then how can hair trends stay behind. Do not choose any hair style, go about your choice sensibly.

To choose what hairstyles suit you best you should first short list hairstyles that really suit your face and body shape.

Short hairstyles will be popular in the year 2010. A short haircut that suits your face and lifestyle can change the way you feel about yourself. It can boost your confidence and make you look younger. The short cut is manageable and looks great naturally too without even being styled. A good short hair cut includes all the essential elements. A lot of celebrities are opting for short hairstyles for the same reasons. Katie Holmes has carried her bob for years now.

Shoulder length layered hairstyles were popular all around the year 2009. They seem to be the favorite of many, still. This style will be in the year 2010 as well. Women with longer hair can choose layered locks with curls. Thick hair looks great when it is layered.

If you have curly hair and it is long in length the choose loose curls. Loose curls that bounce on your cheeks add glamour and make you look younger.

No matter what your age is experiment whenever you can. A new hair style takes away age and boredom from your face. If your hair is straight then try curlers for an instant makeover. In case you have curly hair then use a starightener every now and then. Layers never go out of fashion and neither do bangs. Hair accessories can also be used to change the way your hair looks.

Laser Hair Removal Basics

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair removal process.
It is more costly and takes several treatments, usually between 4-6 treatments.

Treatments will be between 6-10 weeks apart from one another. Depending on the area you are getting lasered it can take anywhere from 15 – 60 min per area. Laser hair removal is a treatment that uses a constant heat source and light beam to target the hair follicle. As the laser goes over the skin the light is attracted to the dark root. The laser will penetrate the hair and kill it at the root.

Laser Hair Removal Basics

Do not wax while getting laser treatments as the laser needs the hair to stay in it’s normal growth cycle to permanently get all the hairs, however you may shave in between your treatments.

You will first need to have a consultation with the doctor before you start your treatments. At the consultation they will go over with you how many treatments you will need and how much time in between treatments.
After your series of treatments you may need to go back for a touch-up once or twice. Ask your physician before you start your treatments if they offer free touch-ups after your series is over.
Since the laser is attracted to the dark root of the hair follicle you may not be a good client if you have dark/tanned skin or light hair, some lasers though are able to work with any skin type and hair color.

Laser hair removal will not work for every body. Laser hair removal is appropriate for you only if the hair is darker than the skin near the hair. If you have black hair and are tanned, then you need to wait till your tan wears off, before you can under go the procedure.

If you have really dark skin, you may absorb too much laser energy on to your skin and hence the procedure is not suitable for you.

There is some pain involved and it depends on various factors like the patient, his/her skin, hair type etc. If you are lighter skinned or if you have smooth hair, then you tend to feel less pain. The level of pain is not a barrier for most of the patients.

In case the laser hair removal turns out to be too painful for you, you can ask the technician to use some topical anesthetic to numb your skin. Things like a cool laser tip, gel, spray etc. are used in order to reduce the discomfort associated with the procedure. Which one of these is used, depends on the kind of laser hair removal procedure you are under going.

What your skin feels during laser hair removal is not pain; it is more like a discomfort. It is like the feeling of a rubber band hitting your skin and the associated heat of the laser hair removal.
