Eva Mendes Is Calculating

Eva Mendes Is Calculating

This is funny because I never would’ve guessed this about her. To me she always has seemed very free-spirited. But apparently Eva Mendes is a little bit type-A. The actress says she’s taking over.
“World domination is my goal. There’s always a method to my madness – people see me as a completely random type, but I’m actually incredibly calculating when it comes to my career.
“If I do topless Calvin Klein ads, it’s because I’ve realised it’s time to turn up the heat in terms of my sexuality. Nothing I do is casual; it’s all methodical.
“I’m just not sure what my method is. All I know is that it’s part of a master plan for me to rule the world. I will accept nothing less. I don’t want to go anywhere but there. That’s my true destination.”

In addition to her plan to take over the world, Eva Mendes  says she can’t sit still. Ever. Oh how I can relate.
“Never look behind you – that’s the best bit of advice I ever received, and it came from my athletics coach in high school. He made me realise that if I did glance behind me when running, even that millisecond of distraction could lose me the race. Since then I’ve lived my life never looking back.
“Living that way probably means I’m not as reflective as some people. I’m not saying I’m doing it right; it’s a very intense way to live.
“There are times when I wish I had more reflective moments. For instance, I’m incapable of taking a holiday – and I haven’t had one for years. I’m incapable of sitting on a beach for a week. I just don’t do it. I’m too driven. What I need is an English country house where I can busy myself all day making jam and scones.”
Eva’s full of quotes these days. First, marriage is boring. Now she’s taking over the world!
Are you like Eva Mendes  or are you a little more relaxed?

Love It Or Hate It: Rachel Bilson, Leighton Meester, Nicole Richie, Kelly Osbourne…

A number of celebs attended the Art of Elysium’s 4th annual ‘Heaven’ Charity Gala last night. Rachel Bilson and Eva Mendes were two of the celebrities who chose to wear some color last night: most of the ladies played it safe with black ;) .

What do you think of the outfits? Below are: Melissa Joan Hart, ‘Twilight‘ star Anna Kendrick, Eva Mendes, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Bilson, Kelly Osbourne, ‘Gossip Girl‘ star Leighton Meester, Nicole Richie, Julia Stiles, and Milla Jovovich.

Eva Mendes Thinks Marriage Sounds ‘Boring’

Eva Mendes Thinks Marriage Sounds ‘Boring’

Eva Mendes has been dating Peruvian film maker George Augusto since 2002, but the actress has no plans to marry! Eva told Britain’s HELLO! Magazine that;
“No, no, no. I don’t know if I want children, but the idea of marriage sounds very boring to me. I have to be honest. And no disrespect, because I think marriage is a beautiful institution … I am extremely romantic but I think there is that little rebel inside me that is anti-establishment. It’s just one more fun thing I can rebel against.”

Well at least that takes any pressure off her boyfriend! And while she has no plans to have a wedding herself, she does enjoy attending other people’s weddings!
“I love going to a wedding. I do this thing – I call it wedding dancing. I don’t know what happens to me but I just dance in a way that I’ve never danced before. I’m the best person to have at your wedding but I just don’t ever want to be the actual person getting married.”
Hmmm, marriage is definitely not boring to me, but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion! What do you think about Eva’s thoughts on marriage?

Love It Or Hate It: Eva Mendes

Love It Or Hate It: Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes has been making the rounds at the Marakech film festival. Yesterday I was IN LOVE with her outfit! Of course, Eva looks gorgeous in these pictures, like she always does. But I’m not sold on the dress today.

The color is nice. Her heels and clutch are nice. The hair and makeup are nice. But the ruffles? I’m not trying to be mean, but the whole thing reminds me a little bit of a cupcake. Then again, it is kind of a sweet look.

What do you think about Eva’s styling choices here? Is this look too much cupcake for you or are you feeling it?

Eva Mendes Attends Film Festival Of Marrakech

Eva Mendes is working hard doing promotion these days! Here she is at a photocall at the Film Festival of Marrakech in Marrakech, Morocco. I think they’re rolling out ‘The Other Guys’ (her movie with Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg ) in Europe

I like her dress her. I’m especially loving the sash. How about you?

Eva Mendes Opens Up About Bonding With Will Ferrell

Eva Mendes Opens Up About Bonding With Will Ferrell

Eva Mendes had a lot of fun filming with Will Ferrell in 'The Other Guy'. However, it most certainly was a guy's domain! The actress played Will's wife and had to be "more than a boy" in order to bond with the crew.
"Will is not a practical joker. He's a verbal joker. He'll do little gimmicks, him and director Adam McKay, it was that kind of set. I learned early on that you've got to just be more than a boy to hang with the boys."
Eva was SO HAPPY she got to co-star with Will because his comedy 'Anchorman' is one of her favorite films.
"It was pretty great. He's kind of like my dream co-star - not kind of like, he is. 'Anchorman' is my favorite movie of all time and Ron Burgundy is one of my favorite characters of all time. It's my 'Gone With the Wind'. All I did was quote 'Anchorman' on a daily basis. So it was a dream come true in a sense."
When asked who was funnier - Will or Mark Wahlberg - Eva couldn't decide. She added to Parade.com:
"I think it's a toss up. Mark steals the show a lot of the times because he's such an amazing dramatic actor that we forget he's funny. So a lot of the times he was coming in being the straight man and just stealing the show."
I'm in. Are you planning to see this comedy?

Eva Mendes - Ups and downs

Eva Mendes

I had my first girl-on-girl kiss in Urban Legends:
Final Cut. Now that was fun…

As starts go, appearing in a video for long-haired American rock pensioners Aerosmith isn't a bad one, but it soon got even better for exotic Yank Miss Mendes when she landed a plum role as Denzel Washington's gal in ice-cool 2001 flick Training Day.

When she's not working, she's doing up her LA home, having become addicted over the years to interior design. Or she's out hiking in the Californian hills. Or she's in rehab – the actress recently spent some time in the exclusive Cirque Lodge in Utah for "personal issues", but emerged smiley, happy and ready for some "me time."
