Nanny Recalls Anna Nicole Smith's Tragic Last Weeks

As Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannielynn turned 4 on Tuesday, her former nanny testified in a Los Angeles courtroom about the sad, final months leading up to Smith's death.

Quethlie Alexie became the latest witness against three defendants, including Smith's lawyer/confidante Howard K. Stern and psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich, accused of plying the Playboy model with dangerous and addictive drugs.

Dannielynn was an infant when Alexie allegedly saw her mother brought into a bathroom by Stern and Eroshevich, who'd leave bloody syringes and cotton balls as Smith stumbled out, acting drunk.

Alexie testified that before the three went into the bathroom, Stern "would say, 'Baby, come and we'll take our medicine.'"

Smith emerged from the bathroom "like, drunk," Alexie testified through a Creole interpreter. "She was unable to walk, falling, and was unable to handle her talking. She would laugh."

Alexie said Smith was weak and suffering from bouts of diarrhea and vomiting and was consumed by grief over the September 2006 death of her son, Daniel, the same weekend she gave birth to Dannielynn.

Smith was also sleep deprived, Alexie recalled, until Eroshevich arrived – then "she would sleep all day. In the middle of her speaking she would sleep."

Stern, Eroshevich and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor are on trial for giving Smith many of prescription drugs found in her body after she died in Febuary 2007 at age 39.

They have pleaded not guilty to several felony charges and the two doctors are still licensed to practice.
